The U.S. Attorney here in New York filed responses to a handful of motions in the Dr. Aafia Siddiqui case yesterday. Much of the memorandum concerns procedural and jurisdictional issues–as well as the ongoing issue of Dr. Siddiqui facing strip searches at the Metropolitan Detention Center each time she meets with her lawyers–but the government’s responses did include a good deal more expository detail.

Again, the criminal complaint outlined this basic narrative. But here a slightly more vivid picture emerges. If this case goes to trial, I’d be interested in hearing the Chief Warrant Officer’s testimony. Particularly how he lost control of his rifle.
Also, interesting to note: nearly 7 pages of the motion were redacted–all arguing against suppressing statements made by Dr. Siddiqui.
